7 Best Wedding Photographers in Colorado
As a boudoir photographer myself, a boudoir session is often a gift for your significant other as an engagement or wedding gift. For this reason, my boudoir clients often ask me for wedding photographer recommendations.
Real talk, there are thousands of wedding photographers here in Colorado. This can make it incredibly overwhelming to sort through them all to find the best person who matches your style and vibe. As a boudoir photographer here in Colorado who used to document weddings, I created this list of wedding photographers that are not only incredible at their craft and customer service, but are also reliable, trustworthy and experienced/established in the Colorado wedding industry.

I’m Katie! I’m a mom of four with a quirky, fun energy and an organized, polished approach—think ‘Type A photographer meets trusted friend.’ I’m passionate about capturing ALL love stories because everyone deserves to feel celebrated. One of my goals is to be a safe space where my couples can love freely and authentically. My approach to photographing couples begins with making sure they feel totally at ease from their engagement session through to their gallery delivery.
Once booked, I provide my couples with a 50+ page wedding guide and insider tips along the way. I check in frequently to make sure we’re on the same page leading up to the big day as well. As for my style, I usually pose my couples to get them in a flattering angle, then use action words to turn their attention to each other, evoking a more refined candid feel.
On the wedding day itself, I make sure my couples can be present with their loved ones and not pulled away for photos the whole day– I want my couples to enjoy their cocktail hour and time with those they invited to celebrate with them! My ultimate goal is to make the wedding day feel as effortless and joyful as possible while preserving every beautiful moment along the way.
Jennie Crate
I’m Jennie and I’ve been a wedding photographer for 13 years. I love photographing people who choose to intentionally create a wedding day with a focus on the people and the relationships in their life that celebrate them. From family to friends to chosen family, I believe that surrounding yourself with the right people is a recipe for a beautifully connected and joyful wedding day and can be experienced within a small elopement or a large party. Connection is beautiful no matter where it shows up!
I love color (the more vibrant the better!), laughter, outward displays of emotion, and a great dance party.
I am part of the Queer community and I love helping other queer folks feel seen and celebrated amidst a very heteronormative wedding industry.
If you want to know the fun stuff, I love being outdoors in the sunshine, traveling, spending time with my wife and my close friends, and cuddling with my two cats. Oh, and I’ll eat a good gooey cinnamon roll anytime of day 🙂
J. La Plante
Jesse and Moira La Plante are Colorado-based photographers who have been shooting weddings since 2008. They first met in the Bahamas on spring break when Jesse (allegedly) offered to buy Moira a drink at an all-inclusive resort. Shortly after that fateful trip, the pair moved to Colorado, and started their wedding photography business.
Their style can best be described as: real life…with a little oomph! They focus on capturing real moments and creative portraits while making sure you get to enjoy as much of your wedding day as possible. They limit their schedule to fewer than 20 weddings each year so they can pour every ounce of themselves into learning about each couple and their priorities.
Jesse and Moira have been internationally recognized by multiple photography communities for excellence in their images, including Fearless Photographers, This is Reportage, Masters of Wedding Photography, and the International Society of Photojournalistic Wedding Photographers. When not photographing weddings, they’re probably skiing, searching for the best margarita in southern Colorado, or traveling somewhere they haven’t been before.

She’ll go above and beyond to make sure your day is just as fun, meaningful, and celebratory as you’ve dreamed. Marissa Solomero
Born in Colorful Colorado and raised on the vibrant East Coast, I bring a unique blend of experiences and perspectives to my work as a destination elopement and lifestyle photographer. My journey back to Colorado has deepened my connection to the breathtaking landscapes and diverse communities that inspire my art and photography because with one look West to the Rockies how could it not?
I have such a strong connection to this state as a creative. This is where my father, who was also a painter and sculptor, created one of the first statues featuring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Emmitt Till, my fathers passion for social justice, art and creativity spoke life not only into my art but also my philosophy as an artist & photographer.
I am a photographer who values diversity and inclusion. I strive to capture the unique beauty and perspectives of individuals from all walks of life. I believe that everyone has a story to tell and it deserves to be represented and captured with great care and intention. I’m so passionate about celebrating all love stories and capturing authentic moments that reflect the beauty of individuality. Whether it’s a wedding, elopement, or lifestyle session, I am committed to creating a welcoming space for all of my clients, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, or ability. Capturing the beauty in our diversity doesn’t just mean capturing photos but making sure that if anyone sees my work they see themselves within my art, so lets chat and create something beautiful together!

Cara Elizabeth
Hey Friends! I’m Cara, your wedding day bestie with a camera. My priority when I’m working is to capture real, authentic moments and turn them into timeless memories filled with nostalgia. I love to document wedding days with a partial fly on the wall approach, focusing quite a bit on those in between moments, but still making sure to capture the classic wedding day posed shots too.
I am based in Denver, but always ready to travel as I love a good adventure somewhere new, and creatively speaking it is one of my favorite things to be brought to a new venue or location. From the moment you book with me, I am here for you. From assisting with timeline planning to location scouting for the perfect engagement location spot, to sending my personal guide for creating your family photo shot list for your wedding day… I do everything in my power to make sure your wedding day goes smoothly and stays stress free.
My approach aims to create an experience that goes beyond just taking photos. I help my couples feel comfortable, connected, and most importantly I want them to feel celebrated. I am passionate about inclusivity, connection, and capturing the little things that make your love story unique. The couples I work with value experience over perfection and want a photographer who captures not just what their day looked like, but how it felt.
